With Gameweek 18 just a few days away, we look at players who provide good options at a budget. This week we take a closer look at defenders who fly under the radar but have huge potential!
We look at "Form", "Average Points Per Match","Goals Scored","Assists","Clean Sheets","Influence","Creativity","Threat","Passing Accuracy","Tackles Won" and "Bonus Points". Our Gameweek 18 choices are as follows:
DEF : Luke Shaw (MUN) - £4.9m
Having started his first premier league match of the season against Bournemouth midweek, Shaw assisted his side in keeping a clean sheet and picked up a bonus point as well. Being plagued with injury in the past and fighting to get back to fitness, he is one to watch as he has an incredible pace along the wing and is very influential in the box. Man United have favourable fixtures from gameweek 18 - 24 and Luke Shaw can assist them in keeping cleansheets and possibly providing assists. This gameweek, United face West Brom at The Hawthorns where West Brom have only won 1 of their 8 fixtures played there. Shaw certainly looks appealing as one to follow!
DEF : Jonjoe Kenny (EVE) - £4.4m
Having played the full 90 minutes of Everton's last 9 fixtures, Kenny is also one to watch! Providing 1 assist, keeping 3 cleansheets and picking up 2 bonus points, Everton seem to be thriving under the new management of Sam Allardyce. Kenny has a 67% passing accuracy and has won 86% of his tackles made. Everton have favourable fixtures coming from 3 of their next 4 opponents with Chelsea in between. This gameweek, Everton face Swansea at Goodison Park where Everton have won 5 out of their 8 fixtures but more importantly Swansea have only won 1 out of their 8 fixtures played away, managing to only score 4 goals. Another cleansheet looks on the horizon for The Toffees!
DEF : Arthur Masuaku (WHU) - £4.4m
Being a very influential player for West Ham, Masuaku has managed to provide 2 assists, keep 2 clean sheets and pick up 1 bonus point as well. He has played the full 90 minutes out of West Ham's last 5 fixtures. Under the new management of David Moyes, West Ham have shown resilience and courage as they have managed to get a win and secure a draw from the last 2 gameweeks against Chelsea and Arsenal respectively. The next 4 gameweeks are favourable fixtures and with a double gameweek in gameweek 22, Masuaku surely has to catch the eye as he can build up momentum in the weeks to come and be a big point earner! This gameweek is important as West Ham look to earn their first victory away from home. Facing a Stoke side who have won 3 out of their 8 fixtures played at home, it will be an interesting duel and it will come as no surprise should David Moyes' men rise again to the occasion!
