Presented to you by Fantasy Premier League : Updates & Tips, "Jump on the Bandwagons" is a brand new feature highlighting players who delivered spectacularily and much better than excepted in the previous gameweek.
So, without further ado..
GAMEWEEK 5 BANDWAGONS
DEFENDER: Listed among our differentials prior to the gameweek, Jamaal Lascelles scored his second goal in as many weeks from a thumping header to meet Ritchie's cross. This pick may not be so surprising to some but Lascelles' 23 points in the last couple of gameweeks led him to become the most transferred in defender this gameweek and with home games against Crystal Palace ane Bournemouth among the next 6 fixtures, points should be expected from him at both ends of the pitch.
MIDFIELDER: Pascal Gross or should we type Groß is a name Bundesliga fans are more familiar with, clearly. Brighton's new midfielder has seen himself becoming slightly more popular ahead of this gameweek, especially for managers seeking budget midfielders. I personally had to replace Ward-Prowse who dropped to the bench and with Choupo-Moting being my only other option, I picked Groß instead and he didn't disappoint - An assist and two bonus points despite the Friday night loss to Bournemouth. It's also worth noting that his 7-point haul allowed me to increase my overall rank by 100k spots back in the day with him proving to be an absolute differential. Despite an away game to Arsenal in two weeks, Groß and Brighton will be up against Newcastle and the underperforming duo of Everton and Southampton all at home in the next five gameweeks. You better get on the train.
STRIKER: On any other day of the previous seasons, considering Aguero as (some sort of) a differential would have retarded but not today. Pep's never-ending rotation and Jesus' emergence reduced Aguero's potential in fantasy terms, at least at the start of the season and he's no longer everyone's first player in the team. However, a hattrick, an assist and maximum bonus points against Watford are already starting to play with everyone's mind especially with Manchester City being at home to the hopeless Crystal Palace up next. Kun Aguero's price already rose not once but twice since Friday but do we see him as a long-term fantasy option ?
Only time will tell!
