A blank at Selhurst Park in GW-7 has ensured that the goalless run for Teemu Pukki has extended for the second successive match, most notably that both blanks came away from home, though Pukki was unlucky not to score in those matches, having had 5 shots 3 of them were on target.
Although Pukki’s away form may still be a concern for many FPL managers (no attacking returns on the road since GW-1 defeat at Anfiled), he is yet to blank at home soil this season, registering 5 goals & 2 assists at Carrow Road so far. Keeping in mind that 2 of the next 3 matches for Pukki & Norwich will be held at home-including a very appealing fixture against Aston Villa next GW who are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this season, conceding 7 goals in their 3 away matches so far.
We are keeping faith in the Finnish man to get attacking returns in the favorable fixtures to come, as it wouldn’t be a wise decision to easily part company with a 44.5% owned forward considering the damage he can do to your overall rankings.
FAQ2) Keep or Sell Barnes ? Should we trade him with Wood ?
After registering 4 goals in the first 3 GWs of the season, Ashley Barnes is now without any attacking returns for the 4th straight match, while Chris Wood has found the back of the net 3 times in his last couple of matches.
Wood was deployed in the middle of Burnley’s attack by Sean Dyche at Villa Park, while Barnes took the left-wing spot, which may bode well for Wood in the upcoming fixtures. Looking closely to their underlying statistics in the last 2 GWs, Wood has managed 6 shots (4 on target) to Barnes 5 (1 on target), which reflects Wood accuracy over the same spell.
However, Barnes can’t be written off quickly, as he always remains the main threat for Burnley attack & with the kind of form he has shown in the pre-season & in the first 3 GWs, we believe he deserves a chance. So, if you already have Barnes in your team we recommend waiting for another GW (or even 2) before considering this swap, else and if you don’t own him you can go straight for Wood.
FAQ3) Keep or Sell Lucas Digne ?
After registering 23 points in the first 4 GWs, Digne has now returned only 2 points in the following three. while Many FPL managers had glimmers of hope for attacking returns for Digne, Everton have scored twice in their last 3 GWs, which further reduces the appeal of Digne particularly & all other Everton assets in general.
Adding to their attacking misery, the Toffees were very sloppy at the back conceding 12 goals in their last 5 matches (more than 2 goals per game). In fact, the departure of Idrissa Guyee is a significant factor in leaving Everton very exposed at the back.
With neither clean sheets, nor attacking returns are guaranteed & considering Everton current poor form, we believe it is the right time to offload the former Barcelona man. With a wealth of viable alternatives, his ideal replacement could be either (Walker, Pereira, Matip-if passed fit, Tomori & Pieteres).
FAQ4) WHat Should we do with Man Utd Defenders ? de Gea , Wan-Bissaka & Maguire ?
Manchester united have now kept only 3 clean sheets in their last 24 games in all competitions since last season, no wonder many FPL managers are considering selling their defensive assets.
However United will be enjoying a very appealing run of fixtures between now & GW 14, with no matches against teams who finished in the top half of PL table last season except a home match vs Liverpool in GW 9 right after the international break.
Considering the above, we are giving a last chance for Manchester United defensive assets for the next GW trip to Saint James park to face a Newcastle side who only found the back of the net 4 times since the start of the season, hoping the red devils can earn a clean sheet this time.
