H17 2019-08-22 Injury Update

Marco Silva on Lucas Digne: "He will be available to the match. Leighton (Baines) will be also. Just Fabian (Delph) out."

Silva on Delph's return: "It's possible next week. He's already started with the team, not full session. Will be a possibility for him to play a full match or during the two matches we have to play next week."

Roy Hodgson says that Crystal Palace have no new injuries. James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho remain out.

Silva on Sidibe: "Djibril did all pre-season with his former club. Ready to play if I decide. Of course, now it's just a matter of him understanding our ideas and philosophy."

Silva on Alex Iwobi: "He started really late, just now his second week working with the team. Didn't do the pre-season. If we need him during the game, he is able to help us. Of course, not [lasting] the 90 minutes."

Silva on Kean: "Trying to settle as fast as he can. Working with him, not just on the pitch but outside the pitch, for him to understand what I want from a player in that position. If he will start or not, that's for me to decide tomorrow."

Brendan Rodgers reports that Ben Chilwell has had an injection to help with a hip injury but the player may still miss out this weekend. Rodgers says it's "likely" the left-back will be ready for next week.

Dean Smith: "I think our most likely goalscorer at the moment is John McGinn, he's made some really deep runs into the opposition half."

Smith on new signings: "Some of them have got in earlier than others, some are waiting their turn. You have to earn the right to play. You've got to prove that you're better than the players who have already got the shirt."

Guardiola on Joao #Cancelo: "He can play, he's ready. Now, one game a week. The people have time to recover. After the international break come the Champions League, Carabao Cup and everybody will be involved."
on Oleksandr #Zinchenko: "Yeah, he's fit. In training good, perfectly. It was cramp."

Daniel Farke reports that Timm #Klose is available for tomorrow's match but likely won't start. Josip #Drmic and Onel #Hernadez remain out, while Christoph #Zimmermann is still a week away from a return.

Sean Dyche confirms that Robbie #Brady will not be involved against Wolves despite a return to full training. Danny #Drinkwater is also absent, while Steven #Defour is back in light training.

Lampard on why #Pedro missed training on Tuesday: "Only because we had a busy week, three games in which Pedro contributed a lot physically. He had a couple of aches that were nothing. He has trained the last two days."
"N'Golo #Kante has got an injury that he has carried all week so we're going to assess that over the next 24 hours. #Rudiger is not fit yet, hopefully for next week. I think that's the only changes from where we were last week."

Tanguy #Ndombele has sustained a minor thigh injury during training and is unavailable this weekend. Juan #Foyth (ankle) and Ryan #Sessegnon (hamstring) remain out but Dele #Alli (hamstring) is back in training and #Son returns from suspension.

Pochettino on Lo #Celso: "He was in extended holidays after the Copa America, he didn’t have a proper pre-season and didn’t train too much. He’s training well but is still so far away from what we expect from him and we need to give him time."

on #Son: "The plan was to provide him with good quality training to try to improve in different areas and when the moment he is available to play to be in the perfect condition.
He was training really, really hard to keep fit and improve in different areas. We are happy in the last few weeks, he was unbelievable in the way he was available to train and compete in every single training session
I hope it’s going to help the team from now. I think it was a good opportunity for him to build his fitness and have a proper pre-season which sometimes when you’re involved in competition is difficult."

on Dele #Alli's chances of playing: "I think we have one training session more and then we decide, we'll see."

Klopp on Naby #Keita: "’Long-term’ doesn’t mean six months, it means a couple of weeks. So no, no real news. He’s still doing well but not close enough for this weekend.”

Jurgen Klopp on #Alisson's return: "Not that close. Looks good, is in good shape, good mood, but will take time. No date really in my mind. In the beginning he was on crutches, they are not there any more."

Bruce on #Almiron: "The thing that we're working on is can we get him higher up the pitch. He's a very, very good player but he tends to drift into midfield naturally. We're trying to get him higher up the pitch in a goalscoring position."
on Sean #Longstaff: "Last week I just detected that he was a little bit ginger with his knee. He's been out for the best part of five months and... I need to protect him a little bit. When he came on against Norwich he had an immediate influence."
"We hope that Saint-#Maximin is going to be OK. It's still too early for Andy #Carroll and Dwight #Gayle but everyone else is starting to return. Christian #Atsu has been on the pitch all week. [#Joelinton] is fine."

Solskjaer on #Sanchez "There's still talks with some clubs. But he played in that game and he played well, so as I've said, he's working hard and let's see in September what's going to happen."

Solskjaer on penalty-takers: "We've nominated a few. Last year we had a few, we had #Rashford, we had #Lingard, we had #Pogba, when I was here, who all scored on penalties. Probably more as well, I can't remember now."
"I'm sure you're going to see Paul Pogba score a penalty for Man Utd again! Definitely. Let's see when we get the next one. We're practising penalties still. Marcus [Rashford] and Paul are still on them."

Eddie Howe on Lewis #Cook: "He won’t be ready for this game but he’s getting closer all the time. He trained with us for the first time fully a couple of days ago. He would need more training sessions and a couple of games but hopefully he's getting closer."

Smith on injuries: "Kortney Hause is back. I think there's only James Chester that's missing and not been on the training ground. Jonathan Kodjia is jogging now but this game will be too early for him."

MS: "@LucasDigne will be available for tomorrow, as is Leighton Baines. Fabian Delph is out." #AVLEVE
