✔ Goalkeepers: Well, Roberto (£4.5) is the one who got the most minutes, and he played the full 90mins of the last two preseason games but he did concede 5 goals. Fabianski (£5.0) did get minimal minutes because of a slight injury but I'm sure he'll still be Pellegrini's no.1 keeper again.

✔ Defenders: They didn't keep a cleansheet throughout preseason. Diop (£4.5) got the most minutes, and he did get a goal. His partner at the back will probably be Balbuena (£4.5) but Ogbonna (£4.5) did get more minutes than the South American. Cresswell (£5.0) looks like he'll be first choice left back, but keep an eye on Johnson (£4.0) as he got 3 starts out of 5. He can play both the left & right fullback. However, that right fullback position is vacated by Zabaleta (£4.5) but Fredericks (£4.5) is hot on his heels.

✔ Midfielders: Antonio (£7.0), who started preseason playing as a forward scored 3 goals. It was good to see Lanzini (£6.5) kicking a ball, he actually got the most minutes amongst the attacking midfielders and he was able to get himself 2 goals. Looks like he'll share set-piece duties with Felipe Anderson (£7.0) & Snodgrass (£5.5). The penalty taker is still Noble (£5.0). New signing Fornals was to get a goal and an assist in 3 appearances. Yarmolenko (£6.0) still needs a bit more time after that long term injury.

✔ Forwards: Haller(£7.5) has come in and has really impressed. He is a brilliant target man, can hold the ball well. Haller was able to score a goal and provided 2 assists in 3 games. But he is just too expensive. Hernandez (£6.0) continues to struggle in a Hammer's jersey.

BEST CHOICES: Fabianski (£5.0), we know what he can do. Diop (£4.5), is a threat from sets pieces and he showed it in preseason. Lanzini (£6.5), he was brilliant in preseason, probably the standout performer. And he is cheaper than Antonio & Anderson.
