Bandwagons or proven players, the start of the Premier League always brings this dilemma to the FPL managers.
Here are our players to watch for GW35 :
Mo Salah (£13.2) - 34.8% ownership vs Cardiff (A)
Let's kick off the article on a high note with FPL's highest points scorer, Super Salah. Not so long ago we were talking about Salah's disappointing run of form after he only got 2 assists from GW27 to GW32, despite his incredible underlying stats. Well now it seems like the Egyptian King has hit some form, he has scored a goal in each of the last 3 games in all competitions. Yes, Mo Salah is a single GW player but he is playing Cardiff in DGW35, a side that has conceded plenty of goals this season so there's a high chance of Salah & other Liverpool players to get mega points, so much watch out. Mo might not be a top captaincy option (because of the single game) for this GW but it's not far fetched...
Diogo Jota (£6.2) - 6 9% ownership vs Brighton (H); Arsenal (H)
On that note, we jump to a player who is actually twice in DGW35 and is a major differential, Diogo Jota. He is against two teams who have only 1 away cleansheet each. With Wolves the only side with 2 home games in the upcoming GW, you can't help but fantasize on how many points they might get. Jota has 5 goals + 2 assists in the last 4 home matches. Clearly, he performs better at home which raises a lot of optimism for FPL managers. A lot of managers might be jumping to his teammate, Jimenez, but with Wolves playing twice at home and Jota being consistent there, he might outshine the Mexican...
Pierre-Emerrick Aubameyang (£10.9) - 19.8% ownership vs Crystal P (H); Wolves (A)
Speaking of consistency, Aubameyang has been hot & cold this entire season. Something to note though is that he is now only 2pts behind Aguero amongst the top point scores amongst strikers, as he has scored 2 goals + 1 assist in the last 4 games. The worrying factor about Aubameyang though is Emery's rotation, which has seen him start only 2 games in the last 4. But Auba is a super sub, he has 4 goals + 2 assists as a sub. With these minimal minutes, the Gabon star might still have a super GW as Arsenal are vying for that top 4 and he personally eyeing the golden boot as he is just 1 goal shy from Aguero & Salah. Arsenal are against Palace & Wolves, two sides who are not that good defensively, so he looks good a very good pick.
Sergio Aguero (£11.8) - 37.6% ownership vs Spurs (H); Man Utd (A)
Finally, we talk about a player who is a good shout for captaincy, a player who shows up in big games, Aguero. Man City will be looking to bounce back from being knocked out the UCL by one of the teams they'll be facing in DGW35, Spurs, the Argentinian will be pivotal in that. Fresh from getting a goal and an assist against Spurs, we are hoping for more of the same in this GW. Aguero has scored 9 goals in 13 games vs Man Utd & has scored 10 goals in 14 games vs Spurs. A big game player indeed, stats don't lie. Watch out!
